Q&A with Model Yan Kumral
We first met Yan on our first e-commerce shoot when he was assisting our photographer, Alessandro. We fell in love and immediately booked him as a model for our next shoot. His gorgeous pale skin, red hair and androgynous looks worked beautifully with our collections. Yan is a genuinely sweet guy and a thorough professional and we look forward to working with him again soon!
Tell us a bit about yourself (your background, your interests besides modelling)?
I was born in Istanbul, Turkey but spent a large part of my life in South Africa before moving to London to study industrial design. Now I work part time modelling and freelance 3D modelling & styling.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style varies but mostly a mix of formal, Lycra sportswear and fluorescent pieces.
If you could borrow anyone’s wardrobe, whose would it be?
No one specific, it wouldn’t fit though I don’t know.
What are your thoughts on nonbinary / gender fluid fashion?
I think it’s great that the industry is recognising its influence and directive on gender norms. V E R V LONDON’s collection contains a bold and progressive idea that I’m very happy to be a part of.
How do you prepare for a photoshoot? Do you have a routine?
Salty bath and a shave.
How was your VERV LONDON photoshoot experience? Any favorite moments or clothes?
It was a lot of fun working with the team and I loved all the clothes especially the church dress and the eyewear.
